A traditional Ethiopian dish of sautéd beef with berbere and red wine.
|
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup spiced butter
- 2 large red onions, sliced
- 6 tbsp. Ethiopian berbere, ground
- 1 kg filet mignon, cut into 1/2'' cubes
- 2 jalapeno peppers, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 cup canned tomatoes
- 1/2 cup red wine
- salt
Preparation
- In a saucepan, heat together wine, salt, and tomatoes.
- In a heated wok, sauté together onions, garlic, butter, and berbere. Cook 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add beef and jalapenos. Cook another 2 minutes.
- Add wine and tomato mixture. Cook another two minutes and serve.
